I am directed by His Majesty's Principal Secretary
of State for Foreign Affairs to refer to Colonial Office
letter No. 30045/1927 (Secret) of February 1st regarding
the possible repercussions of events in China on public
opinion in Malaya, and to state that he concurs in the
desirability of giving effect to the suggestion of the
Governor of the Straits Settlements that a warship should,
if possible, be detached to Singapore.
